Organisation Biography

The SNEHA (Support for Network and Extension Help Agency) is an organisation dedicated and committed to providing extension support to empower the poor, and to networking among development agencies working with similar objectives. The organisation, which was started in 1999, works in the backward areas of Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara Districts in Karnataka  and Erode District in Tamilnadu with a vision of “To sustainably improve living conditions for the poor and vulnerable, concentrating resources on the legitimate needs of the community”.

To achieve its vision, SNEHA promotes a participatory approach between communities, local organisations, local government, NGOs and other developmental institutions.  When joined together and strengthened, local institutions have a much greater capacity to assess, analyse, plan, manage, monitor and jointly achieve sustainable results.
