Save the Children India
Organisation Biography
Save the Children India (STCI) is a local, Indian NGO working with women and children in vulnerable communities so they can lead safe and independent lives. Our programmes stand on the twin pillars of early intervention and system strengthening to enable optimal impact.
STCI recognizes timing as critical in the management of childhood hearing loss. Our Dhvani programme enables the screening and identification of children with hearing loss during the early childhood years. We provide therapy, counselling and appropriate medical technology intervention in partnership with India’s pioneer Cochlear Implant surgeon Dr Milind Kirtane. This early identification and intervention means children are then able to hear and speak, setting them on course to transition to regular schools age appropriately, thus substantively transforming their lives.
